    Easy One-Pot Basanti Pulao Recipe at Home   

    Ingredients List (for 4 people)

    Gobindobogh Rice:  2 cups

    Ghee: 2 tablespoons

    Dry Fruits

    Raisin: 20

    Cashew nuts:20

    Whole Spices

    Cardamom: 5/6

    Cinnamon: 3-inch piece

    Bay leaves: 2

    Cloves: 5/6

    Basanti Pulao Recipe Preparation

    Basanti pulao is a classic Bengali dish that is primarily served during festivities and celebrations such as Durga Puja, similar festivals, and weddings. The dish has a balanced flavour and looks very complex to make at home. However, this one-pot Basanti Pulao recipe takes no time and is ready to serve in less than 15 minutes.

    To start, soak 2 cups of rice in water. When shopping groceries, try to search for Gobindobogh or Kalijeera rice, as both categories of rice work best with the recipe. 

    Next, dry roast the dry fruits like cashews and raisins in a wide pan. Whether you are shopping groceries from online apps or nearby marts, always go for high-quality dry fruits for the best results.

    For garnish, chop the dry fruits in long, thin pieces. Also, soak a few saffron strands in warm milk.

    Cooking Instructions

    Now that all the ingredients are ready for one pot Basanti pulao recipe, you need to take a pan and put it on medium flame. 

    Add a spoonful of ghee to the pan, wait till it starts getting hot, and then add whole spices like cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and bay leaves to the pan. 

    Once the spice starts to crackle, add roasted dry fruits to the pan. Stir it for 1-2 minutes and then add soaked rice to the pan.

    Again, stir for ½ minute and add water to the pan. After adding water, you must add sugar turmeric powder, and salt as per taste.

    Now, let the rice cook for 10-12 minutes. Keep stirring and checking the rice.  Once the rice is soft and tender, switch off the flame. 

    To garnish it, use finely chopped dry fruits along with milk-soaked saffron strands. In no time, your one-pot royal Basanti pulao recipe is ready to serve. It is recommended to serve piping hot for best results.
